Regional IT Infrastructure Leader - General Electric

Role Summary
The Regional IT Infrastructure Leader will be responsible for the execution and delivery of all IT services in Eastern Africa - ensuring stable IT operations, project delivery and end user and executive service excellence.
This position will act as the single point of contact for the leadership team and GE employees within the Eastern sub-region and would partner with the wider GE Corporate IT & business functional teams to deliver world-class IT operations.

Essential Responsibilities: 
Sub-Regional Related IT Delivery
- Develop and deliver the IT strategy for the local sites that aligns to its business program needs
- Lead business case development and execution for local sites IT initiatives
- Partner with business and technology leaders to plan and execute key initiatives
- Keep up to date with changes to service offerings, technical capabilities and regulatory changes and align IT services at the sites
- Communicate and educate local business leaders on IT solutions, capabilities and costs (via Tech Café)
- Design, execute, and report on continuous site improvement plans
- Develop and implement business continuity risk and mitigation plans
- Develop and maintain critical relationships with business, vendors, and enterprise partner
Stable IT Operations
- Participate in local site initiatives that include, but are not limited to delivering: application builds and consolidations, tech refreshes, business integrations, site service and maturity assessments, service improvement, managed services and outsourcing agreements
- Manage rooftops lifecycle of IT services commonly associated with infrastructure, end-user and client domains
- Assume primary responsibility for the execution and delivery of all IT services at all local sites within the sub-region
- Participate in identifying and managing local site budgets and contracts
- Lead supplier management for day-to-day support, SLA monitoring and reporting
- Provide leadership and direction to site managed services and contractors, including End User Services (EUS) personnel
- Provide VIP/White Glove IT support to Executives and C-Level at all sites (with significant focus on GE HQ in Nairobi, Kenya)
- Support and facilitate the adoption and expansion of IT best practices
- Manage communication to stakeholders, team members and management
- Serve as Single point of escalation for IT related Services at site level
- Liaise with Helpdesk, EUS teams & Delivery Partners to ensure performance exceeds contractual SLAs
- Implement and run operational governance mechanisms to ensure performance issues are understood and appropriate solutions are implemented
- Engage and align to regional initiatives and teams to deliver continued service improvement and compliance

Qualifications/Requirements: 
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
- Demonstrated existing knowledge of IT capabilities and significant experience of providing IT site support in Africa
- Project and Program Management expertise with >90% Say / Do ratio
- Managing vendor contract and performance
- Demonstrating an ability to rapidly evaluate changing technologies and service options and apply them to the business environment
- Successfully employing systematic problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and improvement efforts
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
- Ability to communicate concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Able to meet legal work requirements at the one roof location

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:  
Desired Characteristics: 
- Familiarity with: Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as iOS, IT Asset lifecycle management , A/V, Telepresence and video collaboration solutions, BOYD, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Matrix organization skills / ability to motivate multiple groups to maintain collaboration
- High energy, customer passion & attention to detail
- Leadership training program experience (IMLP, OMLP, FMP) is preferred (GE employees only)
- Change acceleration and adoption skills
- Six Sigma Greenbelt, ITIL Foundation or other quality certification

Training & Development Manager - Tribe Hotel

HR Training & Development Manager is responsible for consulting with other mangers to identify training needs, drawing up an overall training plan, managing a training budget, producing materials for in-house trainings, working with training providers to develop suitable course content, evaluating the success of both individual training and the overall programmes, managing regular staff appraisals and reviews and making sure staff have opportunities for ongoing development.

A minimum of 5-10 years experience is required, preferably in the same/similar position in a service driven industry.

Program Assistant - US Embassy

Introduction
The Regional Cooperative Engagement Office (RCEO) has an opening for the position of Program Assistant. The position will be available immediately. The closing date of this position is February 27, 2014. You will be notified when the decision is made.

Qualifications Required
BS/BA degree in health, medical, social sciences or related field is required.
A minimum of five years of experience working with the Public Health programs is required.
Of these, one year experience should be in program management.
Level IV (fluent) English and Level III Kiswahili ability is required.

Other Criteria
Must have knowledge of administrative/accounts office procedures
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software and other data processing applications

Job Specification                                                         
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION    
Under the supervision of the RCEO Chief, serves as the Program Assistant for the Cooperative Biological Engagement Program (CBEP).  The incumbent serves as a prime contact for the Program within CDC Kenya and coordinates activities between the Program and its various stakeholders.  Responsible for all Kenya CBEP activities, allowing the Chief to focus on other DTRA programs in Kenya and the region.

Responsibilities
Performs a range of diverse program management activities for the Cooperative Biological Engagement Program.
Serves as a central point of liaison with other departments and external constituencies in the resolution of a variety of day-to-day matters concerning the program.          
Without direct supervision, schedules and coordinates program activities and appointments, coordinates and facilitates meetings and events as necessary to ensure CBEP goals are met.                                                                              
In consultation with the Chief, provides program recommendations for future activity.                                                                  
Provides administrative support to CBEP visitors in Kenya and coordinates meetings on their behalf
Attends official meetings when necessary (CDC, US Embassy, Kenyan Government) and provides written summaries
Assists with tracking CBEP activities and will liaise with other program stakeholders as appropriate
Monitors CBEP field activities in Kenya
                                                                                                  
Maintenance of budgets and expenses logs. Will be responsible for budget maintenance of CBEP Kenya.
Monitors and assists with fiscal administration for the Program, including following up on invoices with the relevant offices.
Coordinates financial issues for the RCEO with the CDC Financial section, Embassy FMC and GSO offices
Maintains yearly CBEP-Kenya budget
Establishes, maintains and updates files, databases, records and/or other documents for CBEP-Kenya.  Establishes,updates and maintains the RCEO’s financial log in system on all the correspondence from the various components of the Program
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Senior Manager - Program - Safaricom

Key Responsibilities:
•Provide an overall oversight for all Network Engineering Programmes/Projects;
•Facilitate central CAPEX planning and management to ensure planned CAPEX utilization and all capitalization of projects assets is within acceptable limits;
•Co-ordinate Preparation of CAPEX governance and project steerco reports;

•Coordinate the development of SLA between business units and other support functions i.e. Risk, HR, Supply Chain, Technical & IT;

Role requirements
•Honors Degree in Engineering, IT or Commerce;
•Professional certifications: PMP or PRINCE II;
•At least 5 years’ experience in project management with experience in line management or principal engineer;
•Master degree: MBA, MSc/MA in Project management will be an added advantage;
•Experience in managing multiple projects (6 – 12 month duration) simultaneously from start to finish, which have impact across a company, customers and on the revenue generation capability of the organization;
•Good understanding of financial principles, financial ratios with ability to interpret standard financial statements;
•Good understanding of regulatory framework for mobile operations particularly in the Kenyan environment.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Billing & SDM Planning, the responsibility of the Billing Planning Team shall include but is not limited to the convergent billing system (CBS), Mediation Platform and Partner Relationship Management (PRM). The CBS components include Convergent Billing Point (CBP), Open Charging Gateway (OCG), Business Management Point (BMP), Unified Resource Point (URP), Universal Signaling Access Unit (USAU), Unified Voucher Centre (UVC), General Front End Processor (GFEP), DCC Proxy and Provisioning System. Overall, the planning engineer will be charged with: Evaluation of new and existing billing infrastructure; Planning & design for new solutions; Implementation and integration of new hardware/software; Project management; Optimization of existing systems; Internal Process Improvement in accordance with ITIL standards; Contributing towards innovation initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•Create KPI for new products/services, Marketing proposals, products & services vendor evaluation process- weighted evaluation for new hardware, features and services;
•Analyze billing infrastructure on a weekly basis against the KPI;
•Design Convergent Billing System to integrate new elements;
•Minimize network and service impact for any change;
•Scheduling all the planned works;
•Using RACI model to share responsibilities and information in cross-functional teams;
•Create and update handover system configuration documentation after software/hardware installation or upgrade;
•Configure data for new systems with vendor engineer;
•Create/adopt necessary work instruction for existing systems;
•S.W.O.T analysis of projects on regular basis;
•Provide recommendation reports to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of existing services;

Role requirements
•University degree or equivalent in one of the following: Telecommunications; Electronic Engineering; IT (Computing) – Operating systems, databases, system development, LAN design and configuration, TCP/IP or equivalent from recognized institution;
•3 years working as an engineer in a telecommunications environment (vendor or operator)
•Experience of GSM Intelligent Networks or billing systems an advantage
•Experience of Huawei Convergent Billing System (CBS) will be an added advantage
•Analytical & innovative problem solving skills;
•Must be able to work without supervision & meet tight deadlines/schedules, attend meetings and implement action plans;
•Proactive in support & being self-motivated and collaborating with other teams to achieve common objectives.

Business Systems Planning Developer CRM & EAI - Safaricom

Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Systems Planning, the role holder will be responsible for development and 3rd line support of Safaricom Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Applications Integration (EAI) systems ranging from user analysis, design and development to implementation and maintenance. The role holder will be expected to work with other departments within the company to identify requirements and develop solutions (database design, workflows, user/data interfaces), configure and/or customize CRM and EAI applications to meet business requirements using various database and software tools. In addition, assist in presentations of system functionality to new users & departments and enhance/create user & system documentation as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Systems analysis: Conduct business user requirements analysis and specification, specify computer system requirements for the solution of complex business problems and formulate designs for their solutions, perform the necessary technical design and development functionality to ensure that business application systems can be effectively developed and implemented;
  • Software Design and Programming: Design and develop front-end tier(s), middle tier(s), and /or back-end database tier(s) for business applications, capture business applications information needs and map the same to the software and /or database components, perform data modeling to analyze and specify data structures within an application system;
  • Testing, Troubleshooting and 3rd line Support: Create test plans, test data sets and perform automated testing to ensure all components of the developed systems meet specifications, work directly with the IT support personnel and teams to resolve issues identified and escalated during daily operations, perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents, formalize test plans and implement troubleshooting procedures;
  • Research and Development: Research and provide input on design approach, performance and base functionality improvements for various procedures and applications, generate ideas to improve efficiency in software and application services offered to the business, and/or generate revenue for business, participate and have membership in various technical fora for the purpose of increasing the collective knowledge base of the team.

Role requirements;
  • Degree in Computer Science or technical related field;
  • Certification in Database systems and RDBMS systems;
  • Certification as a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer;
  • 1 years Oracle Siebel and Tibco EAI development experience;
  • 2 years development experience with Microsoft development tools e.g. Java, VB, Fox Pro, Visual FoxPro;
  • 2 years development experience with low level programming C++, C;
  • 2 years of work experience with RDMS preferably MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, and Informix;
  • Experience in Business Systems modeling and data retrieval;
  • 4GL for programming - Visual Basic/Oracle Application builder;
  • Unix user skills;
  • Experience in processes and procedures management.
