Agribusiness Specialist (Livestock) - IFC

Duties and Accountabilities:
The Agribusiness Specialist (Livestock) for the Livestock Micro-reforms in Agribusiness Project (L-MIRA) will lead its project operations in Ethiopia and provide technical leadership for the L-MIRA project in all countries of operations. 

Project Overview: The Livestock MIRA project (600828) is an umbrella project covering Ethiopia, Tanzania and a third country to be determined. It is designed to support improved competitiveness in the Livestock sector and specifically in the dairy and poultry value chains and is expected to operate through approximately 2019. The project was designed by the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice (T&C) under the theme of Competitive Industries, and working in partnership with the WBG’s Livestock Working Group and staff of the Agriculture Global Practice Group. The project is fully funded by a Gates Foundation grant and expected to begin implementation in 2015.

Graphic Designer - UNOCHA Somalia

Background
The situation in Somalia remains fragile with continued political instability, climatic variability, and lack of basic social services. OCHA’s role is to coordinate effective and principled inter-agency humanitarian response and ensure that relief assistance reaches the people who need it in a timely manner. In line with OCHA’s global mission, OCHA Somalia continues to:
Advocate for access to basic services, especially water, sanitation, education and health for vulnerable communities, including the collection, analysis and dissemination of information to humanitarian partners, and negotiation of access;
Support the government efforts and humanitarian organizations in relocation of internally displaced and return;
Coordinate the implementation of humanitarian response in Somalia with UN agencies and programmes, national and international NGOs and local authorities/communities as appropriate, with focus on strengthening the cluster approach;
Enhance a protective environment that respects the human rights of all, including IDPs, returnees and minority clans.

IT Assistant (Developer) - WFP

In 2010, WFP began designing and evaluating new transfer modalities and technologies in Kenya. By 2013, WFP had developed inhouse business critical systems to deliver large scale food assistance programmes, and 1 customized open source system supporting an important accountability initiative. WFP plans to increase the use of innovative approaches in the coming years, and requires in-house capacity to ensure that:
1. Existing business critical systems are supported, and updated as needed.
2. The potential of new technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of WFP’s food assistance programmes is continuously explored.
3. Data capture exercises related to WFP’s food assistance transfer modalities are rigorous, effective and efficient.

Administrative Assistant - WFP

Under the direct supervision of the Administration Officer and the overall supervision of the Head of Finance and Administration, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

Major Duties and Responsibilities
VAT Applications.

  • Apply for VAT exemptions for KCO Non-Food suppliers and entitled international staff members.
  • Register all applications and monitor the approvals and/or rejections of the same.
  • Maintain good relations with respective internal and external clients and Government authorities, communicating any requirements and or directives from Government.
  • Provide monthly reports on the status of VAT application exemptions.

ICT Assistant - WFP

Accountabilities: Under the direct supervision of the Head of Field Office and technical supervision of the Head of ICT, the incumbent will assist in implementing and ensuring predictable, repeatable and automated Information system management at the Dadaab Field Office. S/he will act as the ICT focal point to whom the Field Office users refers to for technical support on network and application services issues.
