This position will serve as key IT liaison/single point of contact to functional & business leaders in SSA, and work collaboratively with the wider IT teams to deliver programs and day-to-day support activities for business applications. The candidate will partner with functional and business leaders in SSA to capture and lean business processes, direct and manage all aspects of planning, design and delivery of business solutions, including requirements gathering, business process definition
Essential Responsibilities: - Single point of contact to functional and business GGO leaders in Sub-Saharan Africa and work collaboratively with existing IM leaders in the region to deliver IT solutions that supports productivity and growth initiatives
- Leads and is accountable for operational excellence of business systems in SSA, with duties including project reviews, feasibility, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, initiation, technical solution proposal, execution and closure for all program work
- Coordinate and manage IT initiatives in support of flag planting programs, working closely with wider IT teams
- Architect solutions that best deliver leaned business requirements and meet GE IT strategic technical vision (cost efficiency, performance, simplification, security borrow/buy/make)
- Supervise and, where required, recruit team leads / vendors responsible for managing sub-projects in support of SSA program roadmaps
- Manage budgets, resources, contracts, project plans, weekly reporting mechanisms associated with all programs to ensure on-time, on-budget, to specification and quality requirements
- Partner with the relevant IT CoE’s to ensure that technical solution are optimized and fits with CoE standards and system framework and any relevant release cycles
- Coordinates program support activities, including the development of internal and external communication, issue resolution, vendor relationships, implementation and testing plans, training plans, and successful transition to support and maintenance teams
- Interact with vendors to drive vendor quality and output, partner with vendor to support technical vision Lead and or support other SSA IT initiatives as identified by regional CIO
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering Project management experience in global environments Minimum of 8 years working on large-scale full life cycle global projects
