Oracle Database Administrator - CBK


Description 
The candidate must demonstrate ability to administer and maintain large database installations in a busy environment where security is of top priority.
Key Responsibilities and Work Experience

  • Enterprise database server administration for 24/7 data availability of key systems.
  • Assist in the selection, installation, qualification, testing, and validation of enterprise database systems and applications. Work closely with internal and external developers to develop and maintain custom and third-party database applications.
  • Responsible for documenting all database installations and configurations.
  • Design and develop databases, database users and database security and other database objects including stored procedures. Maintain version control of custom database objects and assist with the creation of entity relationship and modeling diagrams for new custom databases.
  • Create and maintain jobs/scripts with automated scheduling and alerts, configuration and monitoring for all current and future databases. Responsible for monitoring the status of scheduled backups and database jobs.
  • Responsible for database security and the analysis and application of database patches and upgrades to database servers and components.
  • Optimization and performance tuning for all current and future databases and assisting the application team with application performance tuning.
  • Work with the Information Security Office to ensure compliance. Participate in audits by maintaining the necessary logs and providing reports or extracts to the qualified resources as requested for the audits.
  • Perform imports, exports and data conversion from one system to another as needed.
  • Migrate between database platforms as necessary.
  • Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for database administration including backup, restoration, administration, and disaster recovery.
  • Participate in designing, setting up, implementing and testing business continuity and disaster recovery installations within the Bank.
  • Performing capacity planning required creating and maintaining the databases while working closely with system administrators.
  • Evaluating releases of Oracle and its tools, and third party products to ensure that the company is running the products that are most appropriate while working with the application developers and System administrators, to ensure that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact.
  • Enforcing and maintaining database constraints to ensure integrity of the database.
  • Administering all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
  • Assisting with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
  • Troubleshooting problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
  • Creating new database users as required.
  • Manage sharing of resources amongst applications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Age 35 years and below
  • College degree in a relevant technical field (Computer Science majors preferred)
  • Oracle DBA Certification.
  • At least 2 years UNIX experience
  • At least 2 years of Oracle database administration in a UNIX environment.
  • Experience with database administration in high availability environments.

Project Coordinator - Operations - MAERSK SEA LINE


Reporting the Kenya Cluster Operations Manager, the overall purpose of this role is the focus on cost reduction for operations, management of Operations projects as well as ensuring that Longstanding containers are kept at a minimum. The job entails much of negotiation with various vendors and ensuring that the contracted suppliers abide by the terms of contract.
Key responsibilities 
Longstanding Containers (Empty): 
  • Identify empty longstanding containers by monitoring stocks in all locations (Depots, Terminal & ICD)
  • Liaise with Equipment manager to evacuate all longstanding containers
  • Liaise with EMR in the handling of damaged & un-seaworthy containers to avoid keeping dead stock in our depots
  • Monitor Terminal to ensure we do not pay storage charges on Empty containers.
  • Weekly reporting of longstanding stock levels for the cluster & action plans.
  • Conduct quarterly container census to verify physical locations of all Maersk containers. Carry out system reconciliation with KENEQU.
  • Initiate claims for lost/unaccounted containers and close follow up with KENCLM & KENSECUR

Longstanding Containers (Full): 

  • Identify full longstanding containers by monitoring stocks in all locations (CFS, Terminal & ICD)
  • Pursue for return of container into active fleet by:
  • Working with Customer Service to have cargo owners clear their cargo and return the empty units to Maersk.
  • Working with Customs (KRA) towards stripping of the longstanding containers.
  • Working closely with customs to ensure cargo in Maersk containers is nominated for auctions actually auctioned
  • Working with Kenya Bureau of Standards and NEMA to ensure condemned cargo in Maersk containers is destroyed
  • Handle longstanding container cleanup of records
  • Audit equipment in Kenya, participate in equipment stock taking and system reconciliation.

Procurement: 

  • Coordinate tender process for Ops costs including best practices, tender terms and quantifying potential savings
  • Assess and shortlist vendors in liaison with OPS MNG
  • Negotiate in the companies’ best interest
  • Work with KENCLM to prepare contracts and SLAs for each vendor
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure contract terms and SLAs are abided by in the entire duration of the contract

Procurement Analyst - IFC


Background / General description:
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private-sector arm of the World Bank Group, fosters sustainable economic growth in developing countries by financing private sector investment, mobilizing capital in the international financial markets, and providing advisory services to businesses and governments. 

IFC procures both for its own account (administrative procurement) and within its projects (operational procurement for Investment and Advisory Services). The IFC Procurement Coordination Unit (CFAPC) within the Financial Operations and Accounting Department (CFA) is in charge of coordination and oversight of procurement activities to ensure compliance with existing procurement procedure rules.
The Procurement Analyst reports to the Procurement Officer, who reports to CFAPC. 
The Procurement Analyst is an integral member of the IFC Procurement Network.
Duties and Accountabilities:
The role of the Procurement Analyst is to support IFC staff in the procurement process of firms and individuals and coordinate with the Transaction Specialists, according to the direction provided by the Procurement Officer. The responsibilities of the Procurement Analyst include: 

1. Supporting Procurement Planning 
• Support the development of operational and administrative procurement plans across the region in coordination with the Procurement Officer.
• Support the implementation of the approved annual strategy plan, and the measurement of performance and results.
• Keep abreast of new /revised WB/IFC procurement policies/procedures/guidelines and ensure they are communicated and implemented.

2. Supporting the Procurement Selection Process 
In liaison with the Procurement Officer, provide reference, guidance, and advice to staff on IFC operational and administrative procurement policies and procedures, and best practice throughout the selection and contract management process:
• Provide sign off for operational procurement regarding firms and for all individual selections (STC/STT) within certain threshold values
• Provide guidance to IFC staff responsible for handling administrative procurements, and assist them to conduct mini bids under established master agreements when applicable. Coordinate with GSDPR as required to ensure all administrative procurement requirements are met. 
• Review/evaluate selections below certain values and provide advice to mitigate any risks for possible misprocurement Assist staff in identifying potential conflict of interests and refer to the GSDPR/CHARS for advice/ guidance.
• Act as a point of reference for eConsultant2 for non technical issues

3. Training and Sharing Knowledge
• Liaise with Procurement Officer in the development of annual procurement training programs within the region.

• Coordinate with the Procurement Officer in the development of procurement training materials and conduct regular procurement training sessions (including orientation sessions for newly hired Task Managers) on relevant selection process and contract management issues in coordination with the Procurement Officer.
• Raise awareness on selection process and contract management issues by communicating with project teams on common procedural and/or administrative issues/ problems and lessons learned.
• Keep abreast of new information shared via Sharepoint, iCollaborate and the IFC Procurement website.

4. Monitoring Compliance, and Reporting
• Monitor compliance with IFC procurement policies and procedures and bring issues of non-compliance to the attention of the Procurement Officer/ CFAPC. Assist the Procurement Officer with the development and implementation of any plan to correct identified non-compliance issues.
• Assist in the preparation and perform initial quality assurance check of any compliance/monitoring reports, data requested by CFAPC.
• Ensure region has streamlined process for contract issuance and work with the Procurement Officer to ensure proper controls are in place.
• Coordinate with the Procurement Officer on reporting needs and use SAP and eConsultant2 directly for adhoc needs. 

5. Miscellaneous
• Keep abreast of current activities within IFC Procurement Network and maintain productive working relationships with the Procurement Officer, IFC Procurement Network members, with IBRD’s Corporate Procurement (GSDPR), IFC HR (CHARS), Transaction Specialists, Regional Finance Staff and external consultants.
• Review and interpret regional procurement data with the Procurement Officer by using the balanced score card. Support and act as mentor for the procurement junior staff in their regions.

Migration Health Research Officer - IOM


Job Description
Under the overall supervision of the Migration Health Assessment Coordinator for Africa and the Middle-East and direct supervision of the Health Programme Officer responsible for regional health promotion coordination, the successful candidate will assist in coordination, project management, resource mobilization, technical backstopping, and reporting upon the research and information sharing component of the Partnership on Health and Mobility in East and Southern Africa” (PHAMESA)  programme in East and Horn of Africa, in close consultation with relevant partners and colleagues in IOM country offices. The successful candidate will also provide regional backstopping support on the PHAMESA Service Delivery and Capacity Building model. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration  with the MHD global Health Research and Epidemiology Coordinator, Regional Research Coordinator in Cairo, and 
PHAMESA colleagues in Pretoria. Types of research will include qualitative and quantitative studies such as community based assessments; service access mapping; health profiling; integrated biological and 
behavioural surveillance (IBBS) surveys; hot-spot mapping; community health surveillance; data analysis; action research; effective model documentation; evaluation; and other research. 
Core Functions / Responsibilities:  
1. Provide ongoing technical support to IOM and partner research activities in East and Horn of Africa, including methodology development, advice on data analysis, report writing, and delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders.  Provide similar support to governments, as requested. 
2. Coordinate the design, management, and dissemination of new and ongoing regional research activities, including management of consultants and subcontracted research organizations, in line with national and regional priorities.  
3. Provide support in the development of Regional IOM research strategies, guidelines, glossary of terms, and ethical review structures. 
4. Provide assistance to Migration Health Division (MHD) colleagues in the region on devising research that can be submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals, including advice on structuring studies such as to engage institutional review boards, academic institutions, and relevant governmental entities. 
5. Facilitate communication and coordination among MHD  staff in East Africa, and with colleagues in other regions, for sharing of research concepts, protocols, results, and lessons learned.  Compile, organize, and maintain a historical record of all research conducted by MHD since 2005 in East and Horn of Africa. 
6. Draft abstracts for presentation of research in national, regional, and global conferences; actively encourage and support MHD colleagues in East Africa to do the same. 
7. Assist in developing and maintaining engagement in relevant forums of governments, egional economic communities (RECs), and UN agencies, including participation in monitoring and evaluation working groups. When requested, act as IOM liaison with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and East African Community (EAC), and provide technical support to country focal points on migration health issues.
8. Promote the adaptation of national health surveillance systems to identify the health needs and outcomes of migrants. Integrate research into monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes to ensure effective impact of activities and improved health outcomes.  
9. Support collaboration and development of institutional memoranda of understanding between IOM and academic / research institutions at the national and regional levels related to internships, research, and thesis work.  Assist in strengthen the research communities’ capacity to study migration health issues, including acting as supervisor and providing guidance to students who are accepted into the team for completion of 
theses on aspects of migration health.   Support and promote the integration of migration and mobility concerns in (public) health courses and health/HIV concerns in migration courses. 
10. Liaise with colleagues, including MHD Regional Public Information officer, for the promotion of IOM’s research activities in East and Horn  of Africa, including in press releases, quarterly reporting, website content, and for finalization of research reports.  
11. Provide technical support and assist in training of MHD colleagues in East and Horn of Africa for developing programming that utilizes the  PHAMESA Service Delivery and Capacity Building model, for implementing the model, and for publishing and evaluating the model.

Job Description
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Health Programme Officer for Somalia based in Nairobi, Kenya, and  regional health support team, the successful candidate will provide programmatic oversight, strategic guidance and technical advice for the provision of basic healthcare services, strengthening the referral systems for emergency health assistance, providing protection to drought affected IDPs and other migrants, with a focus on victims/survivors of SGBV, as well as support to HIV/AIDS initiatives. 
Core Functions / Responsibilities: 
1. Provide project management, strategic guidance and technical advice for the provision of sex and age sensitive emergency health assistance, including protection, to drought affected IDPs and other migrants, with a focus on victims/survivors of SGBV, as well as support to HIV/AIDS initiatives. 
2. Coordinate and implement the projects in a timely manner in collaboration with suboffices in Somaliland and Puntland, Somalia Programme and Regional Health Support Team. Be responsible for the administrative and technical oversight of the projects in line with IOM's policies and practices as well as donor requirements. 
3. Monitor the projects' progress, specifically aimed at  documenting and evaluating results, as well as increasing effectiveness and recommending appropriate action. 
4. Establish and maintain strong partnership and liaison with implementing partners, the donor community, government entities, local authorities, UN agencies and other stakeholders; promoting dialogue, information sharing and cooperation among government and non-government actors. 
5. Participate in the Health Sectoral Committee, Health and Protection Clusters, UN Gender Theme Group, GBV Working Group, HIV Working Group, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support  (MHPSS)  Working  Group  (if  activated)  and  any  other relevant  key  coordinating meetings and groups to provide technical, strategic and policy advice. 
6. Advise the Chief of Mission on the overall direction and strategy of the IOM migration health programme and integrated gender-responsive approaches for effectiveness, coherence and build linkages with other relevant programmes implemented in close coordination with MHD Nairobi, MHD and Gender Coordination Unit in Geneva. 
7. Identifying new project opportunities and develop new concept notes and project proposals on migration health including: HIV/AIDS, gender and emergency health response based on identified needs. 
8. Assist in developing and maintaining donor relations and participate in resourcemobilization activities. 9. Provide support in managing the health and psycho-social component of a larger project that provides assistance to drought affected persons in Somalia in close coordination with other IOM service areas in Somalia. 
10. Provide technical and implementation support to other projects implemented by the Somalia Programme - Migration Health Division including HIV/AIDS projects which are currently funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM). 
11. Contribute to regular reporting on project achievements, challenges encountered, pertinent developments and strategic needs, as well as provide input for donor narrative reports. 
12. Undertake duty travel from/to South Central Somalia (especially Mogadishu), Puntland and Somaliland.

Identity Authentication Officer - IOM


Context
Under the general supervision of the IOM Nairobi Head of Operations, and the direct supervision of the Operations Officer overseeing the United States Resettlement Admissions Program (USRAP), the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing support in maintaining the IOM Resettlement Program Operation at Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) assisting migrants during departure and transit formalities.

Core Functions/ Responsibilities:
1. Assist in managing and supervising all aspects of IOM's operations at JKIA.
2. Liaise with Immigration, Customs and Airport Authorities as well as with Airline Offices to facilitate departures and transits of 15,000+ IOM migrants per annum.
3. Conduct Identity Authentication (IA) for departing US-bound flights following prescribed US security procedures and send respective IA reports.
4. Schedule and assist in supervising IOM airport staff.
5. Supervise the preparation and sending of IOM departure notifications to Headquarters
(HQs) and all Missions involved.
6. Provide transit assistance for IOM staff and migrants at JKIA in close coordination with IOM Nairobi and other IOM Missions.
7. Provide emergency assistance as necessary to all migrants traveling under IOM Unit
Operations at JKIA in close cooperation with respective government offices and airlines.
8. Provide administrative and logistical support and VIP services, as required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

9.    Advise the Authority on aggregation of procurement to promote economies of scale
10.  Prepare and submit to the PPOA quarterly procurement reports as required
11.  Coordinate preparation of the Authority’s Annual procurement Plans
12.  Provide information, as required for any petition or investigation to debar a Tenderer or any investigation under review procedures
13.  Liaise with PPOA and other bodies on matters related to procurement
14.  Advisedirectorates and staff on all matters to do with procurement of goods and services in line with the provisions of the Procurement Act and the Regulations.

Academic qualifications
a.    Degree in Commerce, Economics or Supplies Management;
b.   Relevant Masters Degree is added Advantage.

a.    Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management
b.   Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience with 3 years at senior level

Job summary
The successful candidate will be required to provide strategic leadership, advice and support for innovative Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs and engages with various key duty bearers to contribute towards promotion of improved service delivery to right holders. He/she will also be specifically involved in providing technical advice and support to Plan and other organizations on Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS).

Key responsibilities

  • Participate and contribute regularly through sharing of best practices and Plan Kenya experiences in the Inter Agency Coordinating Committee (ICC) in general, and in particular, the Sanitation Technical Working Group and Hygiene Technical Working Group, WESCORD (Water and Environmental Sanitation Coordination Working Group and other WASH related networks.
  • Participate in the Water Sector Reform Platforms and provide information to PUs on the GOK and bilateral financing opportunities.
  • Identify and promote innovative approaches to WASH within Plan and with other key partners.
  • Support documentation and sharing of experiences from innovative WASH programs.
  • Provide periodic strategic technical advice and support to PUs and ensure quality programming in WASH.
  • Capacity Building for Plan Kenya staff/Partners in WASH areas of need in line with the  Country Strategic Plan.
  • Provide leadership in the CLTS Unit Preparation of grant concept papers and proposals.
  • Support implementation of grant funded projects (i.e. the NLNO grant - Empowering Self-Help of Rural and Peri-Urban Communities and schools; WSI/AusAid ANO – Improving Community WASH in Kilifi, ACP-EU Water Facility – Improving Access to Water and Sanitation in Matungulu and Masinga Districts, etc,.) according to plans and budgets.

Field Application Engineer - INTEL


Description 
This is a commissioned sales position responsible for technically evangelizing and winning the client, server and infrastructure architectures in focused accounts (key end users, system integrators or OEMs) by offering compelling and cohesive technical solutions based on Intel products and platforms. The primary engagement is at an early stage of an end-user project cycle or an OEM design cycle and supports the efforts of the direct or indirect sales team. This position builds relationships with key account executives and becomes their technology advisor through understanding their business and technical problems, and demonstrating how these can be solved through the use of Intel-based products and solutions. Additionally this position: leads the technical pre-sales phase engaging with the end customer or the OEM technical leaders to drive awareness and early adoption of new Intel technologies, platforms and products; provides training for the Technical Sales Force of fellow travelers in country organizations (MNCs, OEMs, ISVs, SIs etc.) on latest IA Technologies in order to scale our technical messaging; creates excitement and demonstrates the value of the new technology through technical conferences and presentations (including the press in some countries); and may be involved with collaborative project work for trials or proof of concepts. This position may also collaborate with technical academic, government, and/or partner audiences to address design challenges.

Qualifications 
The successful candidate will be responsible for articulating our technology vision across client (including smartphones and tablets as well as desktop and mobile clients) and server platforms at our customers ranging from retailers, MNCs, channel OEMs, distributors, enterprise and government end users including Telecom. Through time they will be viewed as a technical consultant for their accounts business needs. He or she will define with the account teams design and technology targets and will develop engagement strategies to influence their roadmap direction. 

  • Must have a recent (maximum 18 months after graduation) graduate B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering from a reputable university,
